A strong entry makes the relationship between the challenge, the design idea and the completed outcome easy to understand.
Project Overview
Prepare the project title, location or market, completion information and a short summary of the work.
Design Statement
Explain the original challenge, the central idea and the reasoning behind the final design decisions.
Visual Material
Select images that clearly communicate the complete work, its context, key features and important details.
Credits
Confirm the designer, studio, client and relevant collaborators exactly as they should appear in JPIA communications.

Gather the project information, design statement, images and complete team credits.

Complete the entry during the applicable period and pay the corresponding entry fee.
Review
Entries proceed through the JPIA review process. Shortlisted entrants are contacted regarding the finalist stage.

The essential timing and fee information for the JPIA 2027 entry cycle.
When is the lower entry rate available?
The JPY 17,000 early entry fee applies from 1 September 2026 through 30 January 2027.
When do entries close?
The final deadline is 15 March 2027. Entries submitted from 31 January are charged at the JPY 18,500 standard rate.
Is the finalist fee charged to every entrant?
No. The JPY 46,000 finalist fee applies only when an entry is shortlisted.
Are the trophy and certificate included?
A trophy and certificate set is available to award winners as an optional JPY 63,900 purchase.
