JPIA looks at how an idea responds to its context, how thoroughly it has been resolved and what it contributes to the people who encounter it.

We value work that is articulate without excess: considered in concept, precise in execution and relevant beyond the moment of its launch.

Does the work respond meaningfully to a real need, place or way of living?

Is the central idea understandable, focused and evident in the completed work?

Are material, form, function and detail developed as one coherent response?

Can the design remain useful, responsible and meaningful over time?
